  Student Travel Network is an international organization committed to providing low cost air
  transportation to students and faculty of educational institutions.  These fares require that
  each person has either an International Student Identification Card (ISIC), an International
  Teacher Identification Card (ITIC), or a Youth Go CARD.

  Baker Travel is authorized to issue these cards and the tickets available at the special fares
  they offer.  The cards cost $22.00 per year.  To issue the cards we must have a small photo, 
  your date of birth and proof of your student or faculty status.  Proof can be provided by
  sending us a photocopy of your school ID or a letter from your supervisor, department head,
  or principal.

  Age limits for the cards:

     ISIC – you must be a full time student on active status. 

     ITIC – no age restriction

     GO CARD – you must be at least 12 years of age and no older than 26 years.

Business and
First Class Fares


For domestic travel, we have access to fares on American, United, and America West Airlines.  These tickets are good for a maximum stay of 90 days and also require a minimum stay of 2 days.  This minimum stay is especially important as most airlines require a Saturday night stay for their lowest super-saver fares.  In addition, if you cannot meet the minimum stay, or need a stay longer than 90 days, these fares also allow one way travel.  Spouses and children who do not have their own card can also travel at the same rates as long as they travel with the cardholder.   N.B.  These domestic tickets require a seven day advance purchase.

International travel for students is provided on numerous airlines to destinations in Europe, South America, Asia, the Mid East, and the South Pacific.  These international tickets are good for a maximum stay of either one year or 6 months, depending on the airline contracts.  Cancellation of a ticket is $100.00.  No open returns are permitted, but a change of the return date is allowed for $35.00 based on seat availability.  To change an international ticket with the airlines is usually $150.00.  In addition, it is possible to fly into one destination and home from another.  Different airlines do have top age restrictions for ISIC holders, so you will need to check with us personally for your best fare.

For faculty, we offer fares for international travel on Continental, Delta, Swiss Air, Sabena, and Virgin Atlantic to many destinations.  Some of these airlines permit a spouse or child at the same fare, but where that is not possible, we then search for the best consolidator/broker fare for your family.

These special fares do have some blackout dates, and are very popular all over the world.  The earlier you can make your plans, the better chance you have of getting one of these outstanding fares.  Most tickets must be issued within 14 days of the booking.  Payment must be by check or cash.  To use a credit card on these special contract/negotiated fares incurs an additional 6 percent charge of the total.  Even with this extra cost, these tickets are an incredible value because of their flexibility.
